For this actitvity, I was asked to talk on 3 articles from the Diigo MCBS site and then suggest an article that can be added to the site for other students.
I chose this article because starting a blog is something that I've wanted to do for a long time now. When reading the article I found some very interesting and educative points like how to find the best blog post ideas. This was educative to me because when I start my blog, I have to write about things that will attract an audience.
I also learnt about creating remarkable headlines that attract users to your blog. The article also highlighted some web tools that allow people to test out their ideas and find new blog post ideas.
Lastly I saw how research is really a key factor when creating or getting into something.
I believe this article can help me in creating my portfolio because it has showed me that making your content interesting is important in attracting an audience. This will help me make my portfolio attractive, in order for potential clients to spend more time on it because it is interesting to them.
This article talked about creating a killer portfolio which was quite educative and convenient because our next activity was going to be on creating a portfolio.
The site talked about making your portfolio on you and not jut looking at it as a sales tool.
It also gave specific guidelines like the number of projects you should have on the site and the significance of having that number. For example he said that a potential client might think that less than 8 projects is too small and not enough experience.
I also learnt that your portfolio is a living document and that updating it as you evolve will make you more recent and show potential clients that you are growing in your field.
This article will really help me a lot in designing my portfolio because it thought me about knowing the design that fits your occupation, knowing how to update your portfolio and also treating your portfolio as a living thing, feeding it with your new projects.

This article first thought me about knowing the goal of the portfolio because if you don't you will not succeed in creating a good portfolio.
I also learnt that your portfolio should tell a story and that if any old or new work doesn't complement or work along the lines of that story, it should be removed. Also, you should let the features and characteristics of your portfolio show that you are skilled in your occupation. The site also talked about posting testimonials. This shows that you deliver and make clients satisfied.
The site talked about SEO and that concentrating on keywords a lot might make you loose out on good content.
This article will help me create an effective and interesting online portfolio, that potential clients will be satisfied with. I will make sure that my portfolio tells a story that's about me and my work and then make sure that every piece of content supports the story.
