For this assignment, I was asked to create a proposal, sitemap, wireframe and style guide for the Breast Cancer Outreach Foundation Website that I will be creating for my web design class.

Breast Cancer Outreach Foundation Proposal

Goal and Objective

The goal of this project is to redesign the website of the non-profit organization, Breast Cancer Outreach Foundation. The goal is to create a web presence that effectively and easily communicates the purpose and mission of the non-profit. The new site will hold new pages with more information about the organisation with the hope of pushing engagement to a call to action. The website will be responsible for showing the mission of the organisation, what they do, what they have done and buttons to get people involved and donate. The purpose of the site will be to educate people on the issue and get them involved through engaging and emotion evoking content. The website will be made simple, informative, user friendly and will be targeted to audience of the organisation. The CMS, Wix will be used to achieve this and will allow the employers easy access to update the site as needed.

Specific Recommendations

• Media assets like photos and videos showing what the organisation has done and the issues they are fighting as a group. These photos will be added to the website, in order to connect with the user.

• A file possessing the organisations story(about the organisation), facts about breast cancer and information on what the organisation has achieved. For example survival stories. I plan to restructure the website by adding new pages like; about us, about breast cancer and treatment, a donate page and a get involved page.

• Keywords that represent the organisations services and work. I will also use my research skills to gain the keywords needed but will require some from the organisation.

• The usage of more visual content than text when the site is being updated. Users will most likely look at visual representations than read bulky text. If text is to be used make sure that it is short and engaging.

• HD pictures for the site. Acquiring a photographer for the organisation to be there to document what the organisation has done.

Work Estimate

Estimated design and administrative time: 60-70 hours

Estimated Cost: $7000-$9000

Updates outside the time of this project will require an hourly payment of $60.

Delivery Time

The website will be finished and delivered to the clients after 3 weeks of the development and design process. This is to ensure that the site meets all the requirements of the mission and purpose of organization,is easy to navigate and simple.

Site Maintenance

The website will be created through Wix which does not require my help in updating the site once the developmental process is finished. But if that is the case, a payment of $20/month will be needed for the service.

I can also offer a training program for the organisation’s employer who will take over this task and run the website.

Next Step

In order to start the project, the following are needed:

• Transfer informations for the domain name

• Media Assets like Videos and Photos

• Desired layout of the website if any. For example links to other websites that you think fit your description.

• A file possessing the organisations story(about the organisation), facts about breast cancer and information on what the organisation has achieved.

• Deposit of a $3500, which is half of the estimated cost for the project.

Policies

• A deposit of half of the estimated payment will have to be paid once proposal is accepted.

• Projects postponed or abandoned for 15 days or more will result in payment for the work already done, which will be ¼ of the estimated payment.

• A cancellation fee will have to be paid by the client for any abrupt shut down of the project. This payment will be ½ of the deposit amount.

Payment

Payment will be appreciated once the project is done or within a 6 day period after project is completed.
