For this assignment I was to choose keywords from my website and compare them. I was also asked to give a screenshot of my comparison and discuss how the results can affect my site plan.

The Keywords I searched for my personal site and brand are branding, marketing and storytelling.
I want to build my brand and work in my country, Nigeria so I did this research concerning that demographic. One thing that I noticed was that people weren’t really searching for branding or storytelling but more on marketing.
For searches on branding in that demographic, I could only find people asking the question “what is branding.” This then reveals to me that when I go back to Nigeria, I might have to educate clients on what branding is and how important it is for their business.
For marketing, people were researching “target markets, market segmentations and digital marketing.” This means that I have to tailor my website with more of these keywords that show that I do marketing. My personal website right now focuses majorly on branding, so I will have to even the playing field and show more of my understanding of marketing.
For storytelling, I saw that this word didn’t have any searches in that area and I am not really surprised. In nigeria marketing and branding is not something people will relate to storytelling. Therefore I put in advertising as a substitute and saw that people were searching “advertising agencies in Nigeria”. This means that I will have to incorporate keywords pertaining to advertising on my portfolio site.
